Welcome to the Corporate Challenge
Since it began, the Kidney Wales 10K Corporate Team Challenge has become an exciting integral part of the Cardiff 10K and is run within the main 10K race. However, the Challenge represents a very separate competition with its own distinct identity and its own competitive goals.
In the past we have welcomed teams from many different sources including large corporations such as HSBC and Panasonic; smaller companies such as the Turburville Arms; Public Services Providers such as the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the Heath Hospital; Educational Providers such as Cardiff University; and groups comprising of friends and family.
In 2006, two very determined teams from the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service ran away with both first and third position. While new Challengers Cogent Orb outran the rest and came in an impressive second.
It must be stressed, however, that the Team Challenge is not only for those teams keen to demonstrate their athletic prowess; runners of all ability levels are extremely welcome. Indeed, the real significance of the Team Challenge is that it offers its competitors a unique opportunity to take an active role in the work Kidney Wales undertakes, raising vital funds for a great cause and having lots of fun at the same time.
Corporate Teams race against the Community Teams for the Challenge Trophy which will be awarded on the day.
B Active: Teams of 4-6 members compete head-to-head to claim the prestigious Team Challenge title. The position of the first 4 members of each team is calculated and the team with the lowest score wins.
