New course for 2009 HSBC Cardiff 10K

EXCITING NEW COURSE FOR 2009 HSBC CARDIFF 10K REVEALED
Organisers of the HSBC Cardiff 10K Run have announced an exciting new course for this year’s event.
The Run, which is now in its 24th year, will start outside the home of the Ashes at the SWALEC Stadium and end on Westgate Street by the Millennium Stadium, taking in some of the city’s most spectacular parklands along the way.
To help runners prepare for the big day on Sunday, September 6, event organisers Kidney Wales have teamed up with Cardiff-based running specialists MOTI to offer a series of free coaching workshops at the city’s International Sports Stadium.
Giving expert advice at the sessions on July 22 and July 29 will be James Thie, Endurance Coach with the National Welsh Squad and current Welsh record holder for the indoor 1,500m, mile and 2,000m.
Both events are free to those that have already entered the 10K or who sign-up at one of the workshops.
Money raised from this year’s HSBC Cardiff 10K will used to help children across Wales affected by kidney cancer and renal failure.
Entry prices to this year’s Run are just £16 for affiliated club runners and £18 for non-affiliated runners. All entries receive a free race pack, while the first 3,000 will also receive a free race-day T-shirt available in a choice of three colours – blue, pink or white.  Medals are awarded to everyone who finishes the race.
For younger runners and families there is the ever-popular HSBC Cardiff 2K Run, which takes place on the same day. More than 500 families took part last year. Entry for this year’s event is just £15 for a family of four, while for local businesses there is the hugely popular corporate team challenge at just £250 per team.
