Race Course for 2012
The 10k Course:
The 10K will start on King Edward VII Ave, alongside the City Hall and the Crown Courts.
The route will take you up King Edward VII Ave to Corbett Road.
Turning left onto Corbett Road, going down to North Road.
Turn left onto North Road going south at this point, the Marshal will move you over to the right side of North Road.
Down to Kings Way past Cardiff Castle. On to Duke Street, Castle Street and down to the River Taff.
Over Cardiff Bridge into Cowbridge Road East, at the traffic lights you will turn right onto Cathedral Road.
Stay on the right and side of the road all the way up to the top of Cathedral Road; you will then enter into Llandaff Fields, all the way through Llandaff Fields turning right onto Western Ave.
You must stay in the inside lane of Western Ave all the way to the turning into Pontcanna Fields, at this point you will run through the Drink Station.
At this point you stay on this road all the way, passing the Cricket Stadium and the Welsh Institute of Sport.
At Sophia Gardens Car Park, turn left onto Cowbridge Road East, going back over the River Taff and Cardiff Bridge onto Castle Street passing Cardiff Castle onto Duke Street and Kings Way. At the traffic lights of Boulevard de Nantes and North Road you will then turn left into Bute Park now run down to the River Taff.
Now follow the River Taff all the way up, going past the Summer House Cafe and Bute Park Nursery. After the Nursery take the next right turning going back down towards Coopers Field.
You will then turn left over the new Bridge onto North Road going over North Road to Corbett Road. On Corbett Road you will then turn right onto King Edward VII Ave.
Finally you will see the Finish Gantry at the end of the Ave by the City Hall.
The 2k Fun Run Course:
The Fun Run will start on King Edward VII Ave alongside the City Hall and the Crown Courts.
The route will take you up King Edward VII Ave to Corbett Road.
Turn Left into Corbett Road and you will turn left onto North Road.
Proceed down North Road to the Marshal and then you will do a u-turn going back up North Road to Corbett Road.
You will then turn Right into Corbett Road and then you will turn right back into King Edward VII Ave.
All the way down the Ave to the Finish.
Medals to all finishers in the 2K Fun Run and a trophy for the First Boy and Girl over the line.
